ABOUT CAMBRIDGE CHORUS
DIRECTOR OF CHOIRS
Ms. Morgan Watts (soprano) is an Atlanta-based educator, conductor, and performer. Following her degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2020, she moved to Atlanta to complete her graduate degree in Choral Conducting from Georgia State University, under the direction of Dr. Deanna Joseph. While in school, she received numerous scholarships for the arts, including the prestigious Robert Shaw Choral Scholar Award during her time at Georgia State.
Ms. Watts has active performance experience in both Louisiana and Atlanta areas as a chorister and soloist in organizations such as the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, Kinnara, Coro Vocati, First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, the Baton Rouge Early Vocal Ensemble, and more. As a featured soloist, she has excitedly performed in Istanbul, Turkey at the World Choral Symposium 2023 as well as in the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra and GSU University Singers' performance of Handel's Dixit Dominus. Ms. Watts’ recent operatic performance endeavors include "Countess Almaviva'' in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, "Gretel" in Humperdink's Hansel and Gretel, and as the "2nd Witch” in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra. She has proudly received numerous opportunities to perform in an expansive array of choral settings, including performances with renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli and pop-singer Josh Groban.
Ms. Watts’ vast experiences in the arts have led to her immense passion for music education and sharing her love of the arts with others. She is passionate about helping students find their true voices in ensemble and solo settings, and cultivating a welcoming and joyous space for all to explore their crafts. In her spare time, Ms. Watts enjoys spending time with loved ones (including her dog), listening to live music, traveling, and supporting her never-ending obsession with coffee.
She is so proud to be the Chorus Director of Cambridge High School, and is looking forward to years of unforgettable music-making!
